Butterflies At Vagheri

Riding a motorcycle on a steep rocky trail looks a lot easier on camera. But it can be quite exhausting for the body and the mind, specially if you haven’t mastered the technique and have to resort to brute force every now and then.

In fact, the mind often gives up before the body. I’ve seen grown men break down, lose it and give up. Trail riding isn’t for everyone. Encouragement and “you can do it” kind of pep talks are often required to keep people moving.

But the best form of encouragement is Mother Nature herself. We often stop to rest at scenic places along the trail to let people take a breath and admire the view. It makes them feel like the trouble is worth the effort.

On the trail ride to Vagheri, Mother Nature stopped us and showered her beauty all over us. She literally bathed us with butterflies. A million of them. Turns out the trail passed right through a major butterfly nesting area and the noise of our motorcycles caused the butterflies to panic and fly in all directions.

Thanks to the bad lighting, my GoPro did an horrible capturing the moment. But you can get a sense of what it was like. A truly surreal moment. One that I will remember for a long time to come.

We had been riding for quite a while and were exhausted. But this experience was like a strong shot of a painkiller, more for our minds than bodies.
